‘Do at Home’ Toothprints® Bite Impressions

Toothprints® bite impressions were developed by a pediatric dentist for use in community settings, schools and dental offices. It records each child’s unique dental characteristics and captures saliva for DNA testing and scent dog tracking. These ‘do at home’ Toothprints® allow parents to take Toothprints on their own children. The concept and techniques are similar to the ‘boil and bite’ sport moth guards for children.

This two wafer system provides a blue "practice" wafer for practicing the correct softening, positioning and biting procedure. This blue wafer will capture the saliva for DNA testing and for scent dog tracking. The second natural colored wafer will then capture an accurate bite impression and another source of uncontaminated saliva.

It remains important for parents to realize that dental identification is an integral part of the child identification information that parents should have if their child becomes lost or missing.
